Your Parish Council comprises of five members. Councillors serve for a term of four years and represent the interests of the village and work collectively to make decisions for the benefit of the community. The government is increasingly encouraging local councils to deliver more services and play a greater part in their communities to meet local needs.
The Council is responsible for the Parish budget, management of the Clunch Pit, the Glebe ( Village Green) maintenance of the fabric of Village Hall (all come under the ownership of the PC) and village amenities such as the children’s playground, village signs, notice board and benches as well as any environmental issues or concerns.
It is also the interface between parishioners and the District and County Councils; liaison with South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) in relation to planning applications, street signs, council housing, environment, rubbish collection and the new Local Plan for South Cambridgeshire; and Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) in respect of education, street lighting, drainage, highways, speed limits, footpaths, bus services and strategic planning.
Your Councillors are always ready to help if you have any questions or matters of concern about your local area or local services.
Overall and final responsibility for health and safety in the Council and statutory compliance is that of the Council. Risk assessment is a continuing process, it shall form part of the Council’s annual review. The Risk Assessment Management Policy and Risk Register can be found here

Parish Council Meetings are held in the village Hall at 7.30 pm generally on a Tuesday of every month (except August and December). Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and are invited to speak on issues pertaining to the agenda or matters for future discussion during an Open forum session at the start of each of each meeting.

Meeting agendas will be posted on this website and the village notice board sited near Rod’s walk(next to the post box)
Planning application notifications received will be posted on the Parish Council website with the links to view plans on the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Portal. Applications will be considered at the next ordinary parish meeting scheduled , or if necessary a planning meeting will be called. In general, unless the development will have a significant impact on the village or there are material considerations, the council will make no recommendation.

The Annual Parish (Village) Meeting is not a parish council meeting. It is a meeting of the Parish electors taking place between 1 March and 1 June. The Meeting is usually called by the Chairman of the Parish Council (and if present at the meeting, must preside) but the full list of those empowered to summon a meeting is:
– the Chairman of the Parish Council, or
– two Parish Councillors, or
– six local government electors
The meeting celebrates local activities, receive reports from organisations and voluntary groups and discuss current issues in the community. Representation is invited from the local County and District Councillors.
